NOTICE OF RACE
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016 and the U.S. A-Class Catamaran Association rules.
1.2 Racing rule(s) 44.1 will be changed as follows: two turns to one turn. The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions. The sailing instructions may also change other racing rules.
2.1 Competitor advertising will not be a concern at this event provided the Race Committee deems it in good taste.
2.2 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.
3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all A-Class catamarans.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the registration form at gulfportyachtclub.com and bringing required fee, proof of insurance and signing the liability waiver at the clubhouse during registration.
3.3 Late entries will be accepted under the following conditions: she had registered on-line prior to March 23rd 2015 and notified the PRO she would be detained.
4.1 Required fees are as follows: $40.00 per boat.
5.1 The regatta will consist of one race to qualify as a regatta.

7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
7.1 The sailing instructions will be available during registration;
5:00PM – 7:00 pm on Fri March 27TH - at the GYC Clubhouse
9:00AM – 9:55 am on Sat. March 28TH - at the Gulfport City Beach
8.1 The regatta will be sailed in the Boca Ciega Bay near Gulfport, FL area.
9 THE COURSES
9.1 The courses to be sailed will be Windward/Leeward Multihull courses with an offset mark and gates.
10 PENALTY SYSTEM
10.1 Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by a One-Turn Penalty.
10.2 Decisions of the protest committee will be final as provided in rule 70.5.
11.1 The scoring system is the Low Point system in Appendix A of RRS and as follows:
11.2 One race is required to be completed to constitute a regatta.
11.3 (a) When fewer than six races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When six races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
11.4 Not more than nine races will be sailed.
12.1 Boats shall be kept on City of Gulfport Beach starting noon Friday the 27th.
13 RADIO COMMUNICATION
13.1 Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
14.1 Awards will be provided by host Ben Hall of Hall Spars.
15 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
14.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
16.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $100K/$300K per incident or the equivalent.

18 Rules for Fleet Divisions:
18.1 All registered boats will be divided into Intergalactic or A Cat Fleets.
18.2 All sailors will designate the specific fleet for racing at final registration when their registration form is signed on site.
18.3 Boats may register in either Fleet.
18.4 Once registered no changes between fleets shall be allowed.
18.5 All boats will have the same start.
19 Modifications of Rules for Intergalactic Fleet:
19.1 The Fleet will race a maximum of three (3) races per day.
19.2 The Fleet will race under a change to A Cat Championship rules by modifying the high wind limit, racing to an average wind of 18 MPH or below. (Winds shall be measured in accordance with the Championship rules)
19.3 An abandonment due to winds for the Intergalactic Fleet will be signaled by display of a large red flag before each race.
19.4 Absence of the red flag indicates a race for the Intergalactic Fleet will begin with the A Cat Fleet.
